On January 28, local artist J. Koron, (dad to AE/MS student Victoria Koron) came to visit the AE/MS first graders. He talked about the different kinds of tools he uses when he paints (including a paintbrush made from badger hair) and about his life as an artist. The children were in awe of a canvas painted with a rooster that is bigger than they are! Each child (including Jacob Hersey and Sam Gilman, pictured here) added a few strokes of their own to his work. J. also encouraged the students to work hard, because they can become anything they want … a message supporting the class’ current study of “The Power of One,” which is about how one person can make a difference in the world.
