“Paws for Compassion” Brunch Benefits Concord SPCA

Sunday, May 1, in Concord

Press release

The Pope Memorial SPCA of Concord-Merrimack County (PMSPCA) is excited to be hosting its second annual Paws for Compassion Brunch on Sunday, May 1, from 10 AM to 1 PM at the Grappone Conference Center at 70 Constitution Avenue in Concord. Proceeds will fund the medical treatment and care of the Merrimack County community’s homeless, abandoned, and abused animals.

The event features a silent auction, keynote speaker, and full brunch. The Paws for Compassion Brunch offers guests the chance to mingle with shelter pets, staff, and board members as well as hear more about what the PMSPCA is doing to help homeless pets in the community.

Highlighting this year’s brunch, the PMSPCA is excited to welcome award-winning national radio personality and animal rights activist Bruce Zeman and his feisty canine radio sidekick Hobbes. Dedicating his career and life to protecting the lives, welfare, and rights of animals, Bruce rescued Hobbes, a tiny brown dachshund and domestic violence survivor, with the help of a local humane society in 2009 and since then, these “best buddies” have worked together to better the lives of animals. The dynamic duo is looking forward to meeting the attendees at this year’s event and sharing their inspirational story with the crowd.

“We are thrilled to be welcoming Bruce and Hobbes as our keynote speakers at this year’s Brunch,” said Suzy Butler, Executive Director. “His firsthand experience with rescue, animal sheltering, and abuse issues, coupled with his positive outlook and dedication to the mission, will help us inspire the crowd.”

Tickets for the event are $55 per person and can be purchased online at PopeMemorialSPCA.org or by stopping by the shelter located at 94 Silk Farm Road in Concord. Tickets are limited, and all interested parties are encouraged to act quickly as a sold-out crowd is expected. Questions, donations, and inquiries can be sent to Lori Taylor at 856-8756 x225.
