Dear AEMS Family,

Thank you for your support and cooperation with our evacuation on Wednesday. All students were safe at all times. Please know that the safety of our students is our primary concern. Teachers and staff members stayed with their classes until students were picked up by parents or care providers or departed on the school buses. A threatening message was found in a school bathroom. We exercised all safety precautions and immediately evacuated the building. Emergency personnel responded quickly and fully inspected our building. After a comprehensive search of the building it was determined the threat was a hoax and our building was safe. An investigation is in process.

I know the emergency notification email/phone call/text you received yesterday regarding the evacuation was scary for many to receive. Please know that we will always keep your children safe and we will always keep you alerted of events. Please do us a favor and take the time to update your contact information, if needed, so that we are reaching you in the quickest and most efficient way possible. Receiving a text message is now an option. If you are interested in adding the text option you can activate it by simply texting the word “Alert” to 22300. This is not an automatic feature generated by the school because some calling plans are charged for incoming texts.
