The community is invited to the Lake Sunapee Region Center for the Arts’ “First Friday” event on May 6 from 5 to 7 PM. Gallery openings and artists’ receptions are taking place at five New London locations: New London Inn, Lake Sunapee Bank’s Main Street branch, ZeroCelsius Wealth Studio, Whipple Gallery, and the New London Hospital. Light refreshments will be served at each venue.
The New London Inn, 353 Main Street, will host the first Center for the Arts’ Members Only exhibit.
Lake Sunapee Bank, 321 Main Street, will host Debbie Campbell, who paints en plein air around the Lake Sunapee Region and finds unlimited inspiration from the beauty in nature. This exhibit, entitled Nature’s Harmony, highlights the beauty, tranquility, and wonder that exist in the outside world.
ZeroCelsius Wealth Studio, 228 Main Street, will host Barbara Danser, a sculptor working in steel, bronze, and clay and a painter working in oil, pastel, and water media. Her art focuses on the joyful energy of life and nature and on the continuum of time: beginnings and endings, rejuvenation, connections between Earth and the universe, and mystery of spirit.
Whipple Gallery, 429 Main Street, will host a group show featuring artwork from the Women’s Caucus for the Arts, New Hampshire.
The Friends of New London Hospital, 273 County Road, features the works of these area artists: Molly Ellison, Larry Harper, Timothy F. Loraditch, Ben Tolosa, and Roger Wells. The reception will be held in the hospital’s main lobby with five exhibit spaces that can be accessed through the Main Entrance.
