Mark your calendar! Sunday, August 7, at noon is the Andover Historical Society’s annual fundraising auction at the Old Time Fair in Potter Place.

Don’t miss the auction this year, as you’ll be able to bid on a 16′ Luger sailboat. It’s a great boat for learning how to sail, and you can sail it by yourself. But it has plenty of room for a couple more friends.

This sailboat has both a main sail and a jib sail and a planing hull with a centerboard, which makes it ideal for New Hampshire lakes with sandy beaches. There’s storage in a cubby up front for a cooler and extra gear.

The boat was built from a kit, and it comes with plans so you can see how it was constructed. The mast is simply stepped and unstepped (put up or taken down) for travel. It comes with a trailer designed for the boat and the mast.
