Have you heard what is happening on the Wilmot Town Green this summer? The Wilmot Farmers Market is back and ready to start the summer markets on June 25 and every following Saturday, rain or shine, from 9 AM to noon, until September 24. The market will have many returning veteran vendors as well as some new vendors, bringing shoppers the opportunity to experience a few hours on the green in small-town New Hampshire.
During your visit, local musicians will be playing, providing shoppers a relaxed feeling to shop for locally grown products and a variety of items from artisans and crafters. The market will also have several food vendors with homemade baked goods, breakfast sandwiches, coffee, ice tea, cannoli, muffins, popcorn, and fudge.
The market will host Children’s Day on July 16. This market will have a variety of events geared for children. They will have the chance to watch, listen, and learn new things and have a fun-filled family market day.
This year, the Market, along with the Merrimack County Conservation District, will be able to provide SNAP/EBT benefits to participants. Any amount debited from a participant’s card will be matched by Granite State Match, up to a maximum of $20. Whereas some markets only allow the match to be used for fresh fruit and vegetables, the Wilmot Market is fortunate that the match funds can be used towards any SNAP-eligible product.
The same program will allow customers to access their debit and credit cards for tokens that will be accepted by the majority of the vendors. This program is being sponsored in Wilmot by the New Hampshire Electric Co-op.
So where do our vendors come from in New Hampshire to help support our market? They come from Andover, Danbury, Wilmot, New Hampton, Bristol, Henniker, Springfield, Elkins, Salisbury, Bridgewater, Alexandria, and Claremont. In addition, there are several Wilmot non-profits that will be vendors throughout the market season.
