Andover Students Shop For The Holidays

By Jane Slayton, AE/MS Principal

The annual AE/MS Holiday Shoppe will be held on Friday, December 14, this year. This is a much-anticipated shopping day for all students. The Holiday Shoppe provides students the opportunity to surprise their immediate family members with gifts they pick out all by themselves.

Thanks to the generosity of the community, we are able to have a bountiful Holiday Shoppe every December. AE/MS School Nurse Christine Frost will be coordinating the special day again this year.

Last year over 1,500 gifts were donated. Gifts can be handmade. Mittens, scarves, and hats are always popular gifts. If interested, please send in new or almost new items. If you are going shopping and see a bargain, please consider picking it up for the Holiday Shoppe. Gifts can be dropped off at the school office anytime.

Every year we can count on the local women from New Hampshire Circle of Home and Family to help with wrapping and packing up presents for students. Bags are decorated ahead and made ready for those special selections.

At the end of the school day, you see proud students boarding the buses with their presents wrapped and ready to be quickly hidden when they get home.
