NH Senate, Republican, Harold French

Having spent the last two years serving Franklin and Hill in the New Hampshire House, I am now seeking the District 7 Senate seat. I am quite proud to have served on the Commerce Committee during those years.

For those who are unaware of the process in the House, most work on legislation is done in committee. Hearings are held, and changes are made to the bills before they come before the body as a whole.

My experiences while running my business and just my varied life experiences made it possible for me to keep out multiple attempts of lobbyists to make subtle changes that would have cost us all lots more money or make it harder to do business in general.

My goals for the Senate will be to propose legislation to peel back existing anti-business regulations and lower the Business Profits Tax to the point where we, as a State, will be leading our neighbors with the lowest rate, not the highest.

We all hear so much about the “Opioid Crisis” in New Hampshire. The State has come forward with a multitude of solutions to address this. Much work is still needed to be done. My thoughts are to punish the big suppliers hardest while setting up more facilities to assist those who are looking for help.

However, we as a State have to remember that although we can at times protect some people from outside forces, we cannot protect them from themselves. Responsibility is needed by all.
