The first time might be attributed to luck, a second time might be called a fluke, but there’s something to be said about four consecutive wins. That’s what local photographer Jay Fitzpatrick has earned over the past four years, winning top spots in the annual photo contest sponsored by Kearsarge Magazine.
His winning photographs can be seen in the Fall 2016 edition of the glossy regional magazine, which itself has earned many awards in its 10-year history. Jay’s favorite is a photo of his son Adam, who was captured diving high and far off a dock on Highland Lake. That image took first place in the “people” category.
A view of the Wilmot Post Office on a snowy night was selected as the top choice in the “Places” division and a close-up of a bull frog won in the “Animals” category.
“This annual contest presents me with a new challenge and a new reason to explore and photograph people, places and things in the Kearsarge/Lake Sunapee area,” Fitzpatrick said.
A sampling of his work is on display at the Lakes Region Art Association’s Art Gallery at the Tanger Outlet Mall in Tilton, and can be seen at facebook.com/f8photographynh/.
