Have you ever wondered how the Native Americans lived so harmoniously with nature? Do you wish you could just spend a day with them and celebrate the harvest season, while learning more about the natural world?
The Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum and The Little Nature Museum of Warner will celebrate Harvest Moon and Nature Fest on Sunday, September 25. This event takes place rain or shine from 10 AM to 4 PM on the museum campus at 18 Highlawn Road.
At 10:30 AM, New Hampshire Audubon will present “Raptor Rapture,” which will include a live owl, a peregrine falcon, and a hawk. Learn about these predators, how they adapt, and what we can do to help them. At 2 PM, “Wildlife Encounters” will teach us about wildlife with a variety of live animals, some rare.
There will also be music, storytelling, Native American food, crafts, demonstrations, and many hands-on activities for kids, with prizes. Folks may hike the Medicine Woods trail, tour the museums and learn more about nature and how the Native people lived.
Admission is $10. for adults; $5 .for seniors and students; $25 maximum per family, with plenty of free parking. Members of the MKIM, LNM, Native Americans, and those with guest passes are admitted free.
