If you are a girl in grades three to eight and are interested in lacrosse, you are invited to check out Merrimack Valley’s Blue Storm Sports for spring lacrosse sign-ups. Sign-ups only occur during February, so don’t miss out!
Lacrosse is an awesome sport. Girls generally need a mouth guard, goggles, and a lacrosse stick. (Boys have more equipment and if you are new to lacrosse, please invest in a girls lacrosse stick. The sticks are very different!) The youth lacrosse season is from early April until mid-June. We may get started in late March with a Blue Storm clinic for girls sponsored by the Merrimack Valley High School Girls Lacrosse team.
Beginning in late March or early April, practices will be one to two times per week. Games or scrimmages will be on the weekends during April, May, and early June, scheduled by the New Hampshire Youth Lacrosse Association. We anticipate practices and home games to be in the Penacook and Boscawen area.
We hope to have several girls teams. (The U15 team will not interfere with the MVMS seventh and eighth grade lacrosse or softball team.) The “lead” coaches are US Lacrosse certified. Parent volunteers will also help make the inaugural girls Blue Storm Sports 2013 successful.
Registrations are on a first-come, first-serve basis and are only open during February.
The cost for the season is $135. This also includes a Blue Storm Sports pinnie that your player will keep at the end of the season. We hope to have shorts available to purchase, but you will not be required to purchase shorts. We just hope players will wear the same color shorts if at all possible. More information to come.
Please go to BlueStormSports.com to register. You may also e-mail MVHSGirlsLacrosse@nullgmail.com or KStearns@nulltds.net, or call 491-0826 with any questions you might have. For more information about lacrosse as a sport, go to USLacrosse.org.
