Raymond C. Powers, 95, a lifelong resident of Derry, died on February 20, 2013, in the Pleasant Valley Nursing Center in Derry.
Mr. Powers was born in Derry on December 5, 1917, a son of the late Charles and Maude (Cote) Powers. He served with the US Army during World War II.
Mr. Powers retired from Sundeen Refrigeration in Manchester, where he worked as an appliance technician for 30 years. He was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church and a member of the K of C Council 3023, both of Derry. Mr. Powers enjoyed camping, hunting, photography, and travelling.
He is survived by two daughters, Kathleen J. Powers of Derry, and Sandra M. Williams and her husband Richard of Andover; three grandchildren, Karen Gosselin of Sunapee, Jerry Williams of Concord, and Sandra Williams of Hartland, Vermont; two great-granddaughters, Summer Gosselin and Natalie Chute-McGee; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Irene J. (Latulippe) Powers in 2004.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 25, from 4 to 7:30 PM in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. A liturgy of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Avenue, Derry.
