Bert Sutcliffe, head of Ecolectric LLC of Plymouth, spent a recent morning in Andover’s Town Offices and Library replacing 59 fluorescent tubes with light-emitting diodes (LEDs) of a similar size. The change out is part of a project initiated by the Andover Energy Group and designed to save the town money, and improve working and reading conditions. Sutcliffe upgraded entryway and basement lighting as well, also with low energy LEDs. Rooftop solar panels, another part of the project, are scheduled for installation later this year and should deliver additional savings to the town’s electric bill. Caption and Photo: Larry Chase
