Andover Community Coffeehouse Presents Davey O

Starting at 7 PM on Friday, June 16

Press Release

Buffalo, NY born and bred songwriter Davey O., currently “on a decade-long journey that has resulted in a collection of justly earned, highly introspective songs,” according to a reviewer, will headline the evening concert at the Andover Community Coffeehouse on Friday, June 16, beginning at 7 PM in the Highland Lake Grange Hall in East Andover. As always, the concert is free and open to the public, though donations are gratefully accepted.

The review continues: “Armed with a steady, rhythmic pulse on his Gibson guitar, a battered straw cowboy hat and a no-apologies rust-belt work ethic, Davey puts rubber to asphalt, entertaining attentive diverse audiences at listening rooms, coffeehouses, nightclubs, festivals, colleges, and universities throughout the Northeast, Midwest, Mid-south and Atlantic U.S., performances that result in engagement and communion between performer and audience through story and song.” For more information, go to: daveyo.com.

Also appearing onstage will be up to a dozen open mic performers, whose contributions in previous months have ranged from the spoken word to show-business, jazz, folk, bluegrass, country, and western tunes.

Sponsor for the evening is Tilton Medical Associates of downtown Tilton. Sponsor contributions help support renovation of the Grange Hall, which is owned by the Andover Congregational Church.

Looking ahead: Following the June concert, volunteer coffeehouse organizers will take a two-month break, reopening the Grange Hall on Friday, September 15, with a feature performance by Dave Sherman, who sings about real life experiences: family, faith, and work. See the September Beacon for details, and: davesherman.com for more information about the headliner.

Doors to the Grange Hall will open at 6 PM for food purchases offered by the Andover Congregational Church and for open-mic sign-ins on a first come, first serve basis.

A photographic record of past Coffeehouse performers, both headliners and open-mic participants, is shown on the Coffeehouse Web site at andovercoffeehouse.org, and on the Facebook page: Andover Community Coffeehouse.

Video recordings of past programs are shown on a number of community access channels across the state and are available for viewing anytime on Andover’s town Web site at: andover.nh.us, by clicking on Town Information and then Video Archive. The videos are produced by volunteers at Andover Community Cable.
