Franklin Animal Shelter Announces New Street Name

Press Release

Franklin Animal Shelter announces its new street name, Rescue Road. The name change is as a result of a recent review of the Franklin community by our NH911 Field Representative. The 911 field representative suggested that a separate road name leading to the shelter and other buildings in the area be considered as a source of less uncertainty to eliminate potential response confusion.

The buildings in the area include the animal shelter, the transfer station warehouse and the transfer station. By following State New Hampshire RSA 226 guidelines, the Franklin Animal Shelter board met and voted on the new name, Rescue Road, which was approved by the Franklin Fire Chief Kevin LaChapelle.

It is important to note that the Animal Shelter is not moving to a new location. This name change allows the potential for future development and less confusion in locating the building for the response team to provide treatment and/or rescue.

The Franklin Animal Shelter is operated by the Granite State Animal League under contract with the City of Franklin, New Hampshire. The Shelter is a tax-exempt organization. Tax deductible contributions may be made through the Web site, www.franklinanimalshelter.com, or mailed to PO Box 265, Franklin, New Hampshire 03235
