Present: Alan Hanscom, Sue Norris, Jen Hauser, Heidi Murphy, Scott Allenby, Brian Reynolds, Drew Donaldson
Agenda:
Soccer Update: Program Director Heidi Murphy
Merrimack Valley Soccer League Meeting Update
Insurance fees – were $8 last year, now this year are $10 per kid
Not wanting to charge Grade 1-2s, but need to cover $10 insurance costs – vote to approve having $15 cost for Grades 1-2 in order to cover registration costs with SI Play and insurance costs.
Vote: All five in favor of this change
Team fees are the same, but now $10 per kid for insurance.
Talking about having an A and B division – last year one team crushed everyone and one town is really frustrated they don’t have a chance – Bow, Weare, and other towns are losing best kids to club. If we know kids by August 15 and you feel you are going to be at a ‘development’ level, scheduling will reflect that
Bradford is going to host referee clinic – $100 to get patched ref – League will pay half and we (Rec Department) if we know someone is going to be able to ref games. League does not require patched refs, but great opportunity for people to get licenced
Discussing changing soccer dimensions based on US Youth Soccer – youth soccer plays more players on the field (7v7 for 4th grade, we play 6v6) – discussing and coming back to the conversation.
Discussion around mouth guards and perhaps not requiring them as US Youth Soccer does require them.
Uniforms – one internet site – $572 for 50 uniforms (20 YM, 10 YS, 10YL, 10 YXL) – needs to be approved by Town Selectmen
Maybe try BodyCovers in Laconia
Last time we bought jerseys 2005/2006
Check with Jim Tucker as well – just ordered new track shirts that were good.
Coaching:
Don’t know how many coaches we need until we know how many signups we have – Heidi has been asking around.
Coaching clinic being organized and might be tagging on to another town for this – let Heidi know if you have any guest coaching leads.
Swimming Program Update – Heidi Murphy
Heidi had inquiry about swimming and called Franklin who connected her with woman who might be able to help out in August. If we are not having swimming program, we should include local options in newsletter.
Online Signups – SI Play
Heidi finalizing soccer signups – $35 per child
Drew organized cycling signups and Alan has tested
Alan to let Shirley and Elita know in town office regarding amount of money coming in from each registration.
Alan to tell Town login so they can print registrations
Scott, Alan, and Heidi to create written instruction sheet to create account and login with graphics and images – ready for the Fourth of July for Cycling
Cycling Business – Drew Donaldson
Have plot for Fourth of July – settle up with Town after the 4th
Have order in for cycling t-shirts to sell with sign-ups and for fun at booth – getting them from Steele – will submit order to Alan or to town? – Alan – if you have a solid number that is less than $500, Marge can ok it, but if more than $500, selectmen can approve. Should be fairly quick, but only cut checks once a week or once every other week, so as soon as you know, get order to Alan.
Fourth of July Question – Closest to Pin
Tim Norris organizing
Other Business
Need to clear out all old uniforms and equipment from Hamp House – can move to upstairs of the Blackwater Park building
