Long time faculty member at Proctor Academy

Arthur Richard “Dick” Bellefeuille, 83, of Concord died Thursday, December 28, 2017, at his home.
He was born in Manchester, the son of the late Arthur and Elaine (Aubertin) Bellefeuille.

He graduated from Bishop Bradley High School in Manchester. He received a BA in mathematics from the University of New Hampshire, an MA in Spanish from Middlebury College, and an MS in Sports Medicine from the United States Sports Academy.  He was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and the Knights of Columbus.

Dick taught at Proctor Academy in Andover for 32 years, teaching Spanish, mathematics, and science. He was a former Foreign Language Department Head. He coached baseball, football, hockey and basketball and was a nationally certified and licensed Athletic Trainer for 20 years.

He was also employed by the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory of Cambridge, Mass. from 1960 to 1965, stationed in Florida, Curacao and Argentina.

Dick served in the U.S. Army Infantry during the Korean War. He was a former Civil Defense Director of Andover.
He and his wife, Helen, moved to Concord in 1999. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Helen (Hatt) Bellefeuille of Curacao, NA; a son, Richard; and two daughters, Christina and Deborah; three grandchildren and several cousins.

A private family service will be held with a memorial gathering anticipated for the summer time.
