New London NH – Enjoy and evening of poetry at the Center for The Arts’ First Friday, April 6, 5pm at The Meeting Room of the Newbury Town Offices. The Literary Arts Guild, a branch of the Center for the Arts (CFA), Lake Sunapee Region, held its Seventh Annual Poetry Contest with the theme “Poetry: Communion with Nature”. Local poets submitted their poems which were then judged by Chard de Niord, Poet Laureate of Vermont. The program will include poetry presentations by Chard de Niord, Poet Laureate as well as noted naturalist, educator, and writer, Dave Anderson, of the Society for the Preservation of NH Forests. Contest winners will be honored and invited to read their poems. The public is invited and refreshments will be served.
The Center for The Arts is a volunteer organization that hosts a series of free arts programs on the first Friday of each month in the Lake Sunapee Region. Working with business partners in the community, CFA strives to showcase local and regional talent for the benefit of the artists, performers, residents, and visitors to this beautiful region.
