Andover Service Club News

The ASC meeting which was held on May 9 at the Highland Lake Grange Hall in East Andover, was well attended by the members. Topics of discussion were the proposed FY 2018-2019 budget, the Annual Meeting and Spring Luncheon on June 13 at 74 Main/the Millstone Restaurant in New London, and the upcoming “Jingle Bell Fair” on Oct. 27. The ladies enjoyed a special presentation given by Nancy Tripp featuring her trip to Nepal. Delicious refreshments were provided by three members of the Hostess Committee. Some of the members car-pooled to King Arthur in Vermont where they enjoyed an afternoon of shopping after a delicious lunch with homemade breads and rolls baked in the King Arthur Bakery.
June 30 is the last day of FY 2017-2018 for the ASC. The agenda for the meeting and luncheon will include the election of the Executive Board for FY 2018-2019, a vote to approve the new budget, and information regarding the Fourth of July pie “Slices for Scholarships” fundraiser. Members will again be enjoying the delightfully delicious lunch provided by 74 Main/Millstone.
The ASC does not meet in July and August for summer vacations, but members are still working, especially at the ASC Thrift Shop. If you have not been to the Thrift Shop on School Street, why not take some time to see what is being offered there. You will find new or gently used outfits for the entire family, as well as accessories, and jewelry, and items that can be gifts for any occasion.
ASC is always looking for new members with new ideas. If you are a woman, (young, old or in-between) why not come to one of our meetings on the second Wednesday of the month, from September through June, at the Highland Lake Grange Hall in East. Andover at 10 AM. We are always happy to welcome new members.
