At her book launch at New London’s Morgan Hill Book Store last month, Andover’s Amy Makechnie (standing at table), author of her just-published first novel, The Unforgettable Guinevere St. Clair, thanks some of her supporters. Described by Amazon as “this gorgeous debut novel,” the book is aimed primarily at a middle-school audience. As Amazon summarizes the story: “A ten-year- old girl is determined to find her missing neighbor, but the answers lead her to places and people she never expected—and maybe even one she’s been running away from.” Makechnie also spoke in Andover’s Stone Chapel in June, kicking off the Andover Public Libraries’ summer reading program.
