Andover Beacon Offers New  Page Sponsorship Program

Will help defray increased production costs

By Steve Foley

It is no secret that printed newspapers are finding it difficult to stay afloat these days. The Beacon is facing the same challenges as other for profit newspapers. Recent talks with our printer revealed that our printing costs are expected to rise as much as ten percent in the next six months.

As a way to offset our printing costs, we are happy to announce our new page sponsorship program. You may have noticed a few pages in the last several issues of the Beacon had a sponsorship banner at the bottom.  Businesses, organizations, families, individuals or neighborhoods are invited to show their support for the Beacon by sponsoring a page. Each sponsorship will cover the cost of printing that page for twelve issues, and for many may be a tax deductible donation.

Some local businesses do not sell their products or services locally and would not profit from purchasing advertisements in the Beacon. Many of these businesses still want to show their support for the community. Becoming a page sponsor gives them the opportunity to show their support for the Beacon and the  community.

Sponsorship of a black and white page is only $350 per year. Color pages are $550 per year. We put a premium price on the back page and thank Bar Harbor Bank and Trust for stepping up and becoming our “back page” sponsor.

To become a sponsor simply contact our publisher, Shelley Geoghegan by email at accounting@nullandoverbeacon.com or by phone at (603) 735-6099.

If you do not feel you can sponsor a page, but want to support the Beacon with a smaller tax deductible donation you can do so by mailing a check to The Andover Beacon, PO Box 149, Andover, NH 03216. Donations can also be made on-line at www.adoverbeacon.com. Click on the “Donate to the Beacon” button at the top of the home page.
