Here we are again! The piles of snow are melted, but what appears underneath is not a pretty sight around our beautiful town.
Although we have some new beautiful sprouting grass and crocuses, there are also lots of cans, bottles, and other debris on the roadsides. It’s time to help out the roadsides and clean up all those nasty items that have blown around our yards and streets.
An important part of Andover’s Town Clean-Up Week is a street-by-street litter clean-up in honor of Earth Day and in conjunction with New Hampshire the Beautiful. Everyone can be part of this community-wide clean-up. We all know what roadsides look like after the snow is gone, so get a group together, or go solo
Blue bags to put the trash in have been supplied by New Hampshire the Beautiful and can be picked up at the Town Hall or the Transfer Station. While the focus of the clean-up is on May 4 through May 11, clean up can occur at your convenience. But do plan on finishing up by May 21.
Our Road Agent, Jon Champagne, has once again generously offered to pick up the blue bags along roadsides. Recycling is encouraged, but not mandatory, for this project. Most important is to clean up our beautiful town.
