Carol Leavitt Altieri was a winner of the 2013 White Buffalo Native American Calf Award for her poem Molly Ockett, Indian Doctress, which she entered in the 2013 White Buffalo Native American Poet Laureate poetry contest.

All winners’ poems will be published in the forthcoming Gifts of the Great Spirit, Volume IV “Legends” edition.

Carol, who attended Andover High School, lives in Madison, Connecticut and is a retired teacher of literature and environmental studies. She has received numerous awards for her poetry.
