Successful Fundraiser Puts New Shutters On Andover Fire Station

Andover Emergency Services Auxiliary

By Tiffany Perkins

As I have mentioned before, Andover is such a charming town, with its picturesque views, friendly residents, and now, new, red shutters on the fire station! Thanks to the generosity of donors, we were able to meet and exceed our fundraising goal. This money has enabled us to put new shutters on the Main Street Station and will also allow us to replace the shutters on the East Station!

The very definition of generous is: (of a person) showing a readiness to give more of something, as money or time, than is strictly necessary or expected. This is what I experienced every time I opened an envelope that arrived at the fire station. With each one it became less about the money enclosed and more about the messages written in the cards or letters – gratitude, thanks, gratefulness – one after another, an outpouring of appreciation. The messages about our first responders and all that they do made me proud of our amazing team (more so than I already am!).

Thank you again, from all of us on the Andover Emergency Services Auxiliary, for your support and donations! We look forward to seeing you out and about town during our Annual Town Wide Yard Sale on August 24th! We’ll be selling maps at the Main Street Station, where you can check out our shutters. If you would like more information or would like to be on our map, please e-mail us at AndoverESA@nullgmail.com and be sure to check out our Facebook page where we have updates, information and great photos!

Special thanks to the following donors: Lynette Currier, Donovan & Barbara Freeman, Patricia Cutter, Christopher & Kathleen Norris, Andrew & Joanne Phelps, The Hackman Family, Bob & Rita Norrander, Darlene Tilton, Wendy Taylor, Thomas Humphrey, Mario & Caroline Ratzki, Charlie Darling, TMB Convenience – Jen & John Braley, Ron & Pam Cooper, Kearsarge Area Chamber of Commerce, and Stephen Barton and Son Carpentry for volunteering their time to paint, as well as members of the Andover Fire Department to put up the shutters!
