Two Outdoor Events Scheduled at North Wilmot Church

Press release

The North Wilmot Union Meeting House Society (NWUMHS) will have two outdoor events in August at the historic North Wilmot Church, 3 Breezy Hill Road.

The Reverend Dick Dutton will lead a worship service starting at 10:45 AM on Sunday, August 2, on the lawn in front of the church. The service will be followed by a time for fellowship.

The NWUMHS will conduct its annual meeting, also on the lawn of the church, starting at noon on Sunday, August 2.

In case of rain, the service will be at 10:45 AM on Sunday, August 9, followed by the annual meeting at noon.

The annual hymn sing will start at 4 PM on Sunday, August 16, with the Reverend Cindy Johnson officiating. Fred Ogmundson will provide the music. Rain date for the hymn sing is Sunday, August 23.

Seating will be on the lawn. Anyone who plans to attend these events should bring a chair. Social distancing will be required, and participants should bring a mask to wear whenever social distancing is not feasible.

The church is easy to find. Please follow signs on North Wilmot Road, off New Hampshire Route 4A, 4.5 miles to the four-way intersection of North Wilmot, Tewksbury, Piper Pond, and Breezy Hill roads. The church is one mile beyond Camp Wilmot.

Built in 1829 as the North Union Meeting House, the North Wilmot Church has been owned and maintained by the North Wilmot Union Meeting House Society since 1984. The structure was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. An image of the church is on the Town of Wilmot’s seal.
