Yes, it’s that time of year again, when scarecrows and pumpkin heads sprout up all over the area.

Last fall, New London, Andover, and Franklin created an unbroken line of autumn masterworks that were a sight to behold! Pumpkin scarecrows appeared on crutches, in kayaks, and even sporting reading glasses.

Now, it’s your turn. The Andover Hub is sponsoring this year’s display, and there will be prizes; yes, prizes. Turn your drones, hubcaps, car parts, hay bales, pizza boxes, sports equipment, recycling bins, worn out clothes, books, and whatever else you can think of into artistic scarecrows for the town’s enjoyment.

Main Street businesses: I’m talking about you! Let’s put Andover and East Andover on the map for a show of seasonal creativity. Participate!

Watch for more details, but aim for a judging deadline of before October 15 so that pictures and winners can be placed in the Beacon.
