I am the Republican candidate for Merrimack County Register of Probate. The Probate Office is responsible for estates, trusts, guardianships, adoptions, and name changes. These things affect some of our most vulnerable of citizens: the elderly, children, and disabled.
Unfortunately, the Register of Probate does absolutely nothing other than maintain documents of “historical significance.” The legislature stripped the Register of Probate’s duties in 2011.
I’m running to help pass legislation that would restore the duties of this position and am the only candidate pledging to do so. I would also use it as a platform to help raise awareness of the issues foster, adoptive, and kinship parents and promote better financial and estate planning for our citizens.
I am uniquely qualified to do that. I have degrees in business with minors in Pre-Law and Political Science. I had 10 years’ experience working in the Governor’s Office. As Chairman of the Merrimack County GOP, I have worked with our legislative delegation and built relationships with them.
As a long-time foster parent, I assisted the Legislative subcommittee on Foster Care help write and pass legislation to improve the foster care system. As a business professor, I teach on personal finance, helping students understand retirement and estate planning.
I’m running to make the system better, provide customer service and advocacy for our most vulnerable of citizens, and make a difference for the citizens of Merrimack County. I hope I can count on your support on November 3.
