Weekly Basement Book Sale Offered at Bachelder Library

Alternative to cancelled 2020 Fourth of July sale

By Lee Wells

With the loss of our wonderful Fourth of July Celebration due to COVID, the Andover libraries did not get to hold their annual book sale at the Proctor Chapel in 2020. Many generous patrons have donated books since our last sale in July 2019, and every time a book is added to our collections, we need to remove a book from the collection to make room for those new books.

Our storage areas are overflowing with boxes and boxes of books looking for new homes. It is time to have a book sale (by donation) now!

Following the COVID safety and book quarantine recommendations from the State Library, the sale will take place every Tuesday and Friday in the basement of the Bachelder Library in East Andover.  One person per family or pod is allowed to come to the sale on any Tuesday or Friday.  Please make an appointment to come to the sale by contacting us at WABlibrary@nullgmail.com or 735-5076.

If you are at the Bachelder Library on a Tuesday or Friday and no one has made an appointment to come to the sale that day, you are welcome to be the one! Please come, make a generous donation, and go home with some great books!
