The Andover Historical Society is offering public access to its Potter Place facilities — railroad station, freight shed, and Emons Store — on its normal  mid-May to mid-October schedule this year,  and during normal open hours:  between 10 AM and 3 PM on Saturdays, and between 12:30 and 3 PM on Sundays.

In one of the JC Emons store windows, the exhibit may appear similar to the one that appeared in the May Beacon, but observant perusers will notice that all the clothing and hats have changed, courtesy of the collections of Judy Perreault and the Andover Historical Society.  Caption and photo: Larry Chase

The Society’s Tucker Mountain Schoolhouse is open to the public on the second Sunday of the month from June through October from 1 to 3 PM.

Though the usual Old Time Fair will not be held this year, an online auction of historical artifacts may be offered in June at a date to be determined, with proceeds going to support the Society.  Please check the Beacon website at AndoverBeacon.com for more information.

And on Saturday, July 3, an outdoor flea market and yard sale will be held on Society property in Potter Place. Again, all proceeds will support the Society. Yard-sale spaces for private sellers will also be offered. Those interested can learn more by calling Gail Richards at 498-6439.
