Happy Fourth of July to you and your loved ones! What we can’t accomplish this year in actions we will accomplish in spirit, and we know there is plenty of spirit in Andover. One way to show your Andover spirit would be to take a photo with Uncle Sam on the Village Green and submit it to The Andover Beacon at Articles@nullAndoverBeacon.com.

We know there will be many celebrations going on, and we’ve been able to provide an exclamation point for your day with a fireworks display fifty percent larger than Andover has ever seen! To add to that, we’ve requested higher-altitude shells.

Circumstances have not played in our favor this year; however, next year we look forward to offering the following:

Old Favorites

Parade, including Leaping Lena, Muchachos Marching Band, mini cars, antique cars, and some fine livestock.

Over 45 vendors and music (including the Kearsarge Community Band) on the Village Green.

Our non-profits will be back with a vengeance, providing food, products, and services that you won’t be able to resist.

New Favorites

Some new surprises on the Village Green will be Aerial Entertainment, which includes inflatables for kids, and also we will have kids games with prizes.  The committee is negotiating other surprises and working to secure a commitment for the pancake breakfast.

A lot of activity will be going on next year, like ball games and the 5K race to name a few. Start thinking about a float for the parade.  Remember there are generous prizes. Our goal is to select and announce next month the parade theme for 2022.
