Non fui, fui, non sum, non curo*
*I was not, I was, I am not, I care not
(Roman Epicurean epitaph)
Daniel S. Coolidge died peacefully at home on September 3, 2021, after a long struggle with prostate cancer. Cancer won.
Dan was born on September 20, 1948 – four years to the day after his beloved wife Joanna Sumner. He was fortunate indeed to have found love late in his life with Joanna, who cared for him in his final illness.
Dan was the son of John and Mary Louise Coolidge, and leaves a brother, Duncan, and a sister, Mary Dean, with both of whom he was close all his life.
He leaves two daughters, Lillian Olivier and Lydia Haas.
Dan was a graduate of the University of Bridgeport where he earned a BSc in computer engineering. He subsequently earned a Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School, and practiced law for over 40 years.
Dan was blessed by good friends all his life. He led a mostly happy life having had many adventures about which he bored friends and family whenever he could get them to listen. He had many interests, and was forever curious.
No services are planned. In lieu of flowers, be caring and loving to one another.
