Two Classes at the Hub Teach Basics of Quilting

Free; limited to 10 participants

By Susan Chase

Two opportunities will be offered to learn beginning quilting at the Andover Community Hub, on either Saturday, November 13 or December 11, from 9 AM to 1 PM.  Beginning quilters are invited to bring their sewing machines and learn the skill of “cutting up fabric and putting it together again!” as instructor Katherine Stearns says.  She and Brenda Lance, both Andover residents and experienced quilters, will teach both classes.

Classes are limited to 10 participants and are offered free of charge.  Participants will make either a basic “Nine Patch” block table runner for the absolute beginner or the “Friendship Star” half-square triangle pattern for those with a bit of experience.

Participants can purchase their own fabric, or the instructors will have table runner kits, with fabric, available for $13 each.

To register and for details if purchasing one’s own fabric, email KBStearns@nullicloud.com or call 603 491-0826.
