Fall brings several new workshops to the Andover Community Hub in the coming weeks:
The Current State of Real Estate
For an opportunity to learn what’s going on with the real estate market recently and to pick the brain of local real estate agent Ty Morris, residents are welcome to join Ty at the Andover Community Hub on Saturday, November 13 at 3:30 PM.
Over a cup of coffee or a complimentary glass of local wine, Ty will address the state of the current local real estate market, what’s trending, how the pandemic has affected buying, selling, and renting in small-town New Hampshire, as well as whether issues like home energy efficiency and sustainability are becoming a game-changer in local real estate markets.
Those thinking of putting a house on the market, those who have recently bought or sold locally, and those just interested in the future development of Andover are invited to bring their questions regarding the challenges of the recent fluctuating markets, what one can do to position one’s property well in such a market, and other real estate issues on their minds. iPhone Photography Workshop
Photographers are learning that it’s not always necessary to carry a separate camera in order to get great photos; often one’s smartphone may do just as well.
On Saturday, November 20, from 9:30 to 11 AM, Andover photographer Cindy Benson will share what she’s learned about taking award-winning photographs using her iPhone. The workshop will be held at the Andover Community Hub and is offered free of charge.
Participants will learn about the features of the iPhone camera, including settings for night photos, lighting, and portraits; options for wide angle and zooming; how to take panoramic shots, video, and long exposures; as well as editing techniques.
Cindy’s work can be seen at @CindyBensonPhotography on Instagram. To register for the workshop, contact TheAndoverHub@nullgmail.com.
Straw Ornament Workshop
A class in making traditional European Christmas tree ornaments out of straw will be offered at the Andover Community Hub on three consecutive Wednesday evenings, beginning December 1, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM.
Andover resident and skilled craftsperson Nadja Hebert will teach the class. The class is free of charge, but participants will be asked to pay a small materials fee. Registration is required by contacting Nadja at NHebert@nulltds.net.
Playing Cards at the Hub
Wishing you knew some other card players? Have a free morning, afternoon, or evening you’d like to play cards? The Andover Community Hub would love to have a card-playing time going on a regular basis. Could be Hearts, Whist, Poker, Cribbage, or something else.
Let us hear from you if you’d be interested in joining such a group, or even helping to arrange it! Contact TheAndoverHub@nullgmail.com or call 603 735-5509 and leave a message, and we’ll call you back.
The Andover Community Hub is located next to Pizza Chef at 157 Main Street in Andover.
