Press release

Governor Sununu to accept donation from Friends of the Northern Rail Trail for Northern Rail Trail extension to Concord city line.

All fans and supporters of the Northern Rail Trail are invited to attend a special ceremony at Hannah Duston Park in Boscawen to begin at 8:30 AM on Friday, March 25, celebrating the State’s recent purchase of the .6 mile right-of-way (ROW) from Pan Am Railways with funds raised by FNRT from generous donors and with FNRT’s promise to extend the Northern
Rail Trail to the Concord city line.

During the ceremony, Governor Sununu will be handed a ceremonial check for $110,000 by Jack Shields, member of FNRT’s board of directors and Boscawen Extension Project leader.

Jack will lay out what the rail trail’s friends group has planned for extending the existing 59 mile, four-season recreational trail to Concord and improvements envisioned for the Hannah Duston Park trailhead.

This event will take place rain or shine.  Parking is available at the Route 4 Park and Ride in Boscawen. Look for the blue Northern Rail Trail sign to guide you from the parking area down the paved path to the Park.

See you there!
