Andover Girls Softball Season Starts on May 7

Public welcome to home games at AE/MS

“Let’s Play Ball!”

Andover Girls’ Softball season has started, and we have three teams ready to take the field. We are excited with our numbers and enthusiasm from both the coaches and players.

Unfortunately, we are still not in the position to have a T-ball team, but Andover Baseball always welcomes our younger players for T-ball, and we are very thankful for that.

This year our organization is going through some major transitions. President Chris Bentzler has stepped down after serving for a number of years on the board in multiple positions, as well as Vice President Elizabeth Perry and Treasurer Linda Perry.

Chris, EB, and Linda have given years of time and energy to the Board, as parents and most substantially as coaches. They have passed over their knowledge and love for the game and have been available for support and guidance to the new Board members. We will miss them on the field this season and want to thank them for all the hard work and positivity they have brought to our organization.

Our current Board members are: Jill Jones Grotnes, Dara Gove, Donna Bates, Andrea Newton, and Michele Stetson. We are always open to new members!

Andover Girls’ Softball will have 8U, 10U, and 12U teams this year. Our coaches are:

8U: Andrea Newton and Stephanie Martz

10U: Kyle Tremblay, Brad Hardie, and Jessica Davis

12U: Jill Jones Grotnes, Dara Gove, Mark Tremblay, Michele Stetson, and Pete Shedd.

Without volunteer support, our organization would be lost. Thank you to our coaches!

We are looking forward to our annual field clean up day on Saturday, April 23, and are really happy that Garry George is willing to help us put down our new bases. We will definitely be on the Village Green to celebrate Andover’s Fourth of July selling our fried dough this year.

Come out and support our teams at one of our home games – we would love to see you! All of our home games are played at AE/MS. Our Opening Day Parade is on Saturday, May 7, at 8 AM. The parade runs down Main Street, then Lawrence Street, ending at the baseball field with introductions to all softball and baseball teams and coaches.

The home game schedules are below. Unless noted otherwise, games are at 6 PM.

  • 8U: May 2, 12, 18, 23, 25, and June 10
  • 10U: May 3, 5, 7 (at 9 AM), 17, 26, and June 11 (at 9 AM)
  • 12U: May 7 (at 11 AM), 9, 11, 14 (at 3 PM), 31, June 4 (at 10:30 AM), June 7
