Donald “Don” I. Dobson, 92, died peacefully on Saturday, June 11, 2022. Born in Swampscott, Massachusetts on June 28, 1929, he was the son of the late Archie Dobson and Julia (Gallivan) Dobson. 

Don served in the US Air Force from 1947 to 1950. He was a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society (formerly the SPEBSQSA) for more than 72 years. His quartet, the Four Rascals, won several medals in the International Quartet Contest.

Don is survived by his wife, Miyuki (Ryu) Dobson of Falls Church, Virginia; five children, Pamela Crotty and her husband Andrew of Newmarket, New Hampshire, Lynda Whitehurst and her husband Steven of Saugus, Massachusetts, Donna Rosso and her late husband George of Eliot, Maine, Sandra Dupuis and her husband Joseph of Andover, Timothy Dobson and his wife Andrea of Wolcott, Vermont; his stepson, Kazuki Ko of Annandale, Virginia; two sisters, Jane Erickson of Ipswich, Massachusetts and Elaine Porteous of North Andover, Massachusetts; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Joyce “Joy” Oliver.
