“Political Polarization: How Good Politics Creates Bad Outcomes” is the topic of a presentation to be held at the Andover Community Hub on Wednesday, September 21, at 7 PM. Eric Boyer, PhD and a professor in the Department of Business and Social Sciences at Colby-Sawyer College in New London, will share his thoughts on how our society became so divided, why this polarization is so corrosive, and how we might address the problem. The program is sponsored by the Hub and all are welcome.
Professor Boyer’s areas of scholarly interest include American studies, government, and history; his research interests focus on political theory and the history of American political thought. He has written extensively about the US Constitution and the various ways in which it can be read and interpreted. In his teaching, he particularly likes to engage students in their learning by using a variety of historical simulations in his classes.
Following his remarks, there will be an opportunity for questions and further discussion. For further information, contact TheAndoverHub@nullgmail.com or 603 735-5509. The Hub is located at 157 Main Street in the center of Andover.
