New Hampshire Legislature Changes Districts for 2022 Elections

Andover is in House District 5, Senate District 7

By Mary Anne Broshek

Every 10 years, the New Hampshire Legislature determines what towns and cities are in each district for the New Hampshire House and Senate, the US House and Senate, and the New Hampshire Executive Council.  You can view all of these new districts on the New Hampshire Secretary of State website at SOS.NH.gov/elections/running-for-office/voting-districts.

New Hampshire House

Andover used to be in Merrimack District 1 with Danbury and Salisbury, and we voted for one representative.  In 2022, Andover is in Merrimack District 5 with Salisbury, Danbury, Hill, and Webster, and we now will vote for two representatives.

Andover used to be in Merrimack Floterial District 25 with Danbury, Salisbury, Warner, and Webster, and we voted for one representative.  In 2022, Andover is in Floterial District 26 with Boscawen, Canterbury, Danbury, Hill, Loudon, Salisbury, and Webster.  We will still vote for one representative.

New Hampshire Senate

Andover’s Senate district remains as District 7, but there are big changes in who is included in this district.  There used to be two different counties in this District – Belmont and Merrimack – with the following towns and cities: Andover, Belmont, Boscawen, Canterbury, Franklin, Gilford, Laconia, Northfield, Salisbury, and Webster.

In 2022 there are five different counties included in the new District 7.

  • Belknap County: Tilton
  • Grafton County: Alexandria, Bridgewater, Bristol, Grafton, Hebron, Orange
  • Hillsborough County: Hillsborough
  • Merrimack County: Andover, Boscawen, Bradford, Danbury, Franklin, Henniker, Hill, Newbury, Salisbury, Sutton, Warner, Webster, Wilmot
  • Sullivan County: Goshen

Executive Council

There were major changes to the Executive Council districts. Andover used to be in Executive Council District 1.  In 2022, Andover is now in Executive Council District 2.
