As a retired teacher of math, physics, mechanical engineering, and environmental chemistry, I bring a depth of technical understanding and analytical thinking that is greatly needed in the New Hampshire House. My skills include writing clearly and speaking persuasively before the 400-member House, which is crucial to getting the votes for bill passage.
Serving as your representative in the 2018-2020 session, I was the author and prime sponsor of six bills, five of which were passed by the House.
I pushed to save your energy dollars, protect our children’s and our own health and environment from pollution, and to limit the improper influence of corporate dollars on New Hampshire laws and policies. I spoke up for the interests of loggers and foresters, for improved radiation monitoring and reduced pollution, and for getting anonymous corporate “dark money” out of New Hampshire politics. I strongly support public education, lower local property taxes, and our personal right to control our own reproduction and to love whomever we choose.
I take pride in my community involvement. I designed and built accessibility for seniors in Danbury and at the Andover Hub, on whose Board I serve. I led a nonprofit called New Hampshire Forward to establish industry-sponsored apprenticeships in our region, and I serve on the Andover Planning Board, where I helped draft and present to voters a successful new Conservation Subdivision ordinance for the benefit of our community.
I want to hear your views on New Hampshire issues and respectfully ask for your vote. Visit ElectKenWells.org for contact info.
