As your Merrimack County Commissioner I am running for re-election, having been elected in November 2020.
I have long had an interest in county government. I was a student intern in the commissioner’s office, and have served as a New Hampshire state representative, Franklin’s youngest mayor, county treasurer, and a county commissioner.
I am retired after running my own business for many years. As a lifelong resident of Merrimack County, “neighbor” to Andover, I am fortunate to have many friends there. My wife and I are the proud parents of a son and grandson.
The current economic situation has posed many challenges to county government and its 800+ employees as we strive to provide the best quality care to the residents of the Merrimack County Nursing Home. Staffing shortages at the Nursing Home and the Department of Corrections, as well as at other county departments, remain a challenge. We are doing our best to recruit and retain well qualified employees.
The County Commissioners are currently drafting the 2023 county budget. Our goal is to continue the successful programs we are proud of, dealing with juveniles, the incarcerated, and those who need long-term care. For the past three years we have held the line on property tax increases, and we hope to continue that trend next year.
Please help me continue to work for you and your neighbors. I would appreciate your vote (at the bottom of the ballot) on November 8. Thank you.
