Rail Trail Gets Safety Upgrade at Busy Intersection

FNRT Director Ricker Miller headed up the 2022 Recreational Trails Program grant project at the Plains Road intersection of the Northern Rail Trail and busy New Hampshire Route 11 in Andover. The project addresses safety and visibility issues.

Jon Champagne of J and B Landscaping and Excavation constructed the rerouted trail, creating a much safer crossing. Consultation with the Andover Snowmobile Club and collaboration with the New Hampshire Bureau of Trails helped design the project, ensuring the best result for all trail users in all seasons.
