The Yevshan Ukrainian Vocal Ensemble is coming to the Kearsarge area to perform traditional, secular and liturgical Ukrainian choral songs. Fifteen months after the invasion of Ukraine, the ongoing Russian attack leaves little for children. The ongoing invasion has created an even greater need for basic assistance to help children survive and thrive. Carlyse Evans of Wilmot and the local Ukrainian community are organizing the event to raise money for humanitarian aid to Ukraine. They invite you to join them for a wonderful afternoon of music and to support humanitarian needs in Ukraine.
The benefit concert, Voices for Ukraine, will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2023, starting at 2 PM at the First Baptist Church, 461 Main Street, New London. Suggested ticket price at the door is $20. All proceeds from the concert will go to the Common Man for Ukraine, a New Hampshire charity supporting children in Ukraine. Their website is: Yevshan.org.
About the Common Man for Ukraine.
When Russia invaded Ukraine, two couples, Alex, Lisa, Susan, and Steve decided to do something to support the Ukrainian people. They created the charity Common Man for Ukraine. The group has gone to Ukraine four times, providing children with food, medicine, generators, sleeping bags, trauma counseling, and toys at Christmas, as well as meeting other needs. The Common Man for Ukraine works with the Rotary Club of Plymouth New Hampshire and the Rotary Club of Zamosc, Poland, which allows them to quickly transport the most needed items to orphanages in Western Ukraine. To date, Common Man for Ukraine has delivered over 2.5 million in aid to Ukraine. Their website is: CommonManForUkraine.org.
