The Andover Fish & Game Club Kids’ Trout Fishing Derby was held on Highland Lake on May 20. It was a great success. There were 51 kids registered, with almost as many the night before helping with the stocking of the trout. There were 37 trout caught and many horn pout and other fish also caught.

Here are the stats: longest trout caught by Logan Welcome, at 15″; second longest, Bryce Welcome, at 10 7/8″; third longest by Timothy Welcome, at 10 7/8″. The longest total inches of combined trout caught went to Sonny Braley, at 35 3/8″. The kids all loved their trophies, as well as the prizes and ribbons handed out. Thanks to everyone who had a part in making this day a success.
