Bachelder Library Mini Golf Fundraiser Raises Funds for Roof

The Putt Fore the Bachelder Library Mini Golf Event was fun for all! Missed it this year? You’ll have an opportunity to play again in July 2024. Caption and photo: Michaela Hoover

If you passed the Andover Public Library at the beginning of July, you may have noticed our miniature golf course set up on the front lawn. This course was created as a fundraiser for the ceiling repair project at the Bachelder Library in East Andover, thanks to the creativity and generosity of local businesses, organizations, and families.

Hole #12, Friends of Elbo-Edge, were the winners of the Putt Fore the Bachelder Library Mini Golf Event Mini Golf Golden Putter Award! They were voted as the favorite spot on the course and will have to defend their title in July 2024. Caption and photo: Michaela Hoover

More than 150 people visited the course over five days, raising $3,235. This course was extremely unique, with nine of the holes inside the library and nine set up outside. Players were able to climb Mount Doom, travel through a Lego tunnel, and send their ball down a pipe into a construction site. Despite the rainy weather, a fun time was had by all. In the words of one little golfer, “This is super cool! Mom, can we play again?!”

All golfers were able to vote for their favorite hole, with the winner being awarded The Golden Putter. The winner was Hole #12: Friends of Elbo-Edge! This spot on the course was extra special, as it was created in memory of Bill and Betty Bardsley. The Friends of Elbo-Edge will have to defend their title when we host mini golf again next year. We’ll see you on the course in July 2024!

A huge thank you goes to all our sponsors; The Exchange, the 3 Ms, the Andover Book Clubs, Proctor Academy, Dubois Cleaning Co, Imagination Inn, LMB Cleaning Service, the Andover Fourth of July Committee, Ty Morris: Real Estate Professional, JJ’s Market and Deli, the Jenkins Family, Friends of Elbo-Edge, Priscilla Poulin, the Franklin High School Girls Softball Team, Poulin Property Maintenance LLC, and Cadillac Ranch.

We also want to thank everyone who loaned us their putters, the children who decorated the golf balls, and everyone who volunteered in a variety of ways to make this event so successful. Thank you for loving our Andover Libraries!
