The Wilmot Historical Society’s book group will discuss Alexander the Great by Philip Freeman at 10 AM, Saturday, September 23, at the Wilmot Community Association’s Red Barn, 64 Village Road, Wilmot.
From the book jacket: “As racy and pacey as any novel. Here, in vivid and exciting detail, are all the familiar highlights of Alexander’s career. . . . Mr. Freeman’s ambition, he tells us in the introduction, was ‘to write a biography of Alexander that is first and foremost a story.’ It is one he splendidly fulfills. . . . A rollicking read.” (Tom Holland, the Wall Street Journal)
Copies of the book are available at the Wilmot Public Library. The meeting is free and open to the public. More information is available from Marc Davis at 603 526-6960 or marcsdavis@nulltds.net.
