The Andover Service Club (ASC) met this month after a summer hiatus, but that doesn’t mean we’ve been idle! Fellowship and service are at the core of our activities year round! Summer activities included:

Tending the Town Hall flower beds and Thrift & Gift Shop window boxes – weeding and watering as needed (not much need for water this year!)
Preparing and rewarding three scholarships to local students attending college
Preparing the 2023-24 budget
Running the Andover Thrift & Gift Shop; scheduling volunteers to work in the shop,  accepting, sorting and pricing donated and consignment items, offering shoppers a monthly sales special, and managing our in-house Artisan gift program which provides an opportunity for local artisans to market their wares
Fourth of July Slices for Scholarships – baking, staffing, set up, and breakdown
Participation in the Town Wide Yard Sale
Updating the ASC membership book

The September 13 business meeting included: 2023/24 budget approval, summer activity reports, and exciting plans for the coming months. Conversation with other local women and refreshments were enjoyed. The Andover Service Club’s next meeting is on Wednesday Oct. 11, 10 AM at the East Andover Grange. Please join us!

Feel free to call/text Anne Hewitt (603) 848-5762 with any questions regarding the meeting or membership. And don’t forget to support our nonprofit Thrift & Gift Shop. Stop in during the month of October for the $3 sales special on all donated clothing. There is a great selection of new and gently used items for the whole family, carefully selected by the shop’s dedicated volunteers. Thank you.
