The public is invited to the opening reception of the Open Studios, featuring the works of four local photographers, at The Andover Community Hub, on Saturday, October 7, from 1 to 3 PM.
On Sunday, October 8, anyone wanting free portraits (shared digitally) of themselves or family members can stop at The Hub between 10 AM and noon, where local photographer Jay Fitzpatrick will have his portable portrait studio set up.
Jay Fitzpatrick will be joined by photographers Cindy Benson of Andover, and Tom McHugh and Lindsay Holmes of New London. The four will greet visitors both days from 10 AM to 4 PM. They are members of the CFA’s Photography Café, which meets on the third Thursday of every month at the Tracy Library in New London.
The two-day exhibit and art sale is part of the Kearsarge Area Center for the Arts’ (CFA) annual Open Studio event. Seventeen artists will be exhibiting at their home studios in the greater Kearsarge area. Maps to each studio will be provided at The Hub.
Visitors will have an opportunity to view dozens of framed photographs that depict New England landscapes, wildlife, flowers, travel destinations, and also include some abstract images. The group will demonstrate photo-mounting, matting, and framing techniques, as time allows.
