Major Project to Begin at the Bachelder Library

Ceiling repair starting on October 15

If you have been to the Bachelder Library recently, you may have noticed that there is mold andmildew on the ceiling. This is the result of damage from a  leaky roof many years ago. The time has come to fix this! 

Starting October 15, the old ceiling and insulation will be torn down, the mold and mildew will be removed, new and better insulation will be installed, and a new ceiling will be put in place. While this work is going on, the Bachelder Library will be closed.

You may recall that when the radon was being remediated at the Andover Public Library, the Library “moved” to the Bachelder Library, that is, the Bachelder Library was open for the regular Bachelder Library and the Andover Public Library hours. Now it is time for the opposite
to happen. While work is being done at the Bachelder Library, the Bachelder Library will be moving to the Andover Public Library. The Andover Library will be open for its usual hours plus the Bachelder Library’s hours.

We encourage patrons to visit the Bachelder Library soon and check out as many books as you like. This will be your last opportunity for a while to browse through the stacks and check out books from the Bachelder Library.

 Michaela and Lee will be available to help you with all things library related. Collaboration and cooperation worked out very well for us during the Andover Public Library radon remediation project, and it will serve us well during the mold remediation project at the Bachelder Library.

Starting October 16, the Bachelder Library will be closed. We will keep you informed about how the project is progressing and when the Bachelder Library will be reopening.

Starting October 16 the  Andover Library will be open:
Monday: 6 to 8 PM
Tuesday: 8 AM to noon and 6 to 8 PM
Wednesday: 8 AM to noon and 6 to 8 PM
Thursday: 1 to 5 PM
Friday: 1 to 5 PM
Saturday: 10 AM to noon
