Linda (Corson) Ayres, of Bedford, wrote in to let us know that this photo, included with the September article about Andy Phelps, identified as his mentor, Ira Stickney, was in reality a picture of her father, George Corson, who was the previous principal. “We left Andover in 1952 for the big city of Milford. Mom and Dad returned to Andover to retire around 1972 but not until he got a couple more years under his belt at the Andover elementary school.
I’ve always loved this picture of Dad and our years in Andover.”
