Have you ever played Giant Jenga? Connect Four? Uno? Or even Candy Land? Attendees of the Andover Public Library’s Giant Game Night, held on

October 4th and 5th, were given a chance to do just that. Children and adults alike traveled through the Peppermint Forest, Licorice Lagoon, and Frosted Palace to get to King Kandy’s Castle during games of Candy Land. Along the way, they were greeted by festive decorations and collected candies to fill their goodie bags. The game got children to practice color recognition, matching, and counting. A fun time was had by all.

Thank you to all the local families who allowed us to borrow their oversized versions of the classic games, like Jenga and Checkers. The Jenga tower often became so tall that participants had to stand on a chair to make their next move! Checkers always drew a crowd, with spectators watching from our purple play couch. Connect Four was often played in teams, such as parents versus kids. We’d also like to give a special thank you to the Perkins Family for helping to clean up the games on Thursday afternoon.

If you missed this giant event, don’t fret! We’ll definitely be having it again in the future. We’ll announce it online on Facebook and on our website, as well as on our Beacon page. Stay tuned!
